Road manner?

Last few days is Chinese New Year holidays for 2 days; Thursday and Friday and continue to another 2 days of weekend. With that, it's a quite a good long holiday of 4 days in a row. I've already planned for my trip to my hometown in Terengganu which normally will take roughly 6-7 hour drive.

Well, when my return trip to KL, it took me a freaking 11 hours! To be honest, last year when it was Eid' Adha holiday, my return trip to KL took me a full 13 hours. That's like you're spending the whole day in the car. I dont quite care about the traffic jammed all along the highway but, the thing that make me really pissed off are those who overtake the rest of the waiting cars in the left lane using the emergency lane!

I mean, come on! Its not like the rest of the drivers who are politely waiting in their lane aren't going home as soon as possible right? Those moron they never learn.. As if the road is theirs.. Hey, I pay my roadtax too!

This car uses Koni SP3 with Ground Control to get it to that stance. The wheels are Diamond Racing Pro where all round are 15" with the fronts are 8" wide and the rears are 10" wide.

Powering the front wheels is a JDM B16A engine with TODA header while managing the exhaust gases are handled by Buddy Club Spec II exhaust. The brain of the engine is P28 ECU with Hondata S300.

SPE LP640TT

SP Engineering Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Twin Turbo

SP Engineering is very much already known in California tuning industry. They are most famed for their projects on turbocharging supercars such as Carreras, GTRs, M3s, Gallardos, Murcielagos and many other type of cars and today's entry is about their Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Twin Turbo project car.

Lamborghini, an Italian supercar maker is known to make fast and very fast cars. Murcielago was born back in 2001 and until today it has gone through several facelifts with different version given to each one of them. First came equipped with 6.2 liter V12 engine producing 570HP and later in 2006, the newer Murcielago generation known as LP640 was born. LP640 receives bigger engine with a displacement of 6.4 liter producing 630HP at 8000RPM. And, this Murcielago laid upon you is one of the rare breed LP640.

SP Engineering had goals before making this project. The goals are to ensure the car will make power even on RON 91 fuel which also will make it work with the stock clutch and E-Gear. They also intended to have the twin turbo setup to be OEM-like as most of the parts are hidden from view. Everything is done on a stock motor.

Which means, every add-ons are located outside of the engine block. The turbos are custom made and a single TiAL wastegate is used to prevent from overboosting. With the boost set to limit at 6 Psi (0.4 Bar), this LP640TT madea whooping 700WHP with a torque of 890Nm powering all of its four tyres.

Weir F20C CRX

Do you like Honda? Well, I do like Honda especially the 2nd gen CRX. They just look cute and mean at the same time with its lifted rear end and with the straight drop rear fascia. Its as if the car originally came with a rear boot but been chopped off by Honda QAs. If it were, then Honda QA have done a good job in approving designs.

It started with...

Firewall were cut out to give way for the tranny

Modified CRXs mostly have in its engine bay either a B16 or B18 series engine. To some extent, some folks do have their CRXs runs on K20 or even the bigger sibling; the K24 motor. There's no replacement for displacement.

The mockup engine with his belated GT35R

This guy who owns this CRX for more than 13 years have gone through most of those options, be it turbocharged or nitrous fed. This time, he opted to have the rear wheels of the CRX to move the light chassis around. He planned on getting it pushing a hefty 450WHP with GT35R turbocharger bolted to F20C engine. Yup, you got that right. Its an S2000 engine powering CRX chassis.

Have you seen this setup before? Hint: formula cars

At first, he bought a drivetrain of AP1 S2000 but, the drivetrain were missing its rear subframe. He sold off the AP1 drivetrain and bought an S14 Silvia rear subframe for a 2/3 price of what he sold the AP1 rear end. At the moment, the project is still in its working stages. Apparently, his GT35R turbo were stolen last year and he is still looking for a replacement. For me, I'd go with an all motor setup. But that's just me.

JAPO Z-Tune

JAPO Gmbh is a motorsports company based in Germany and they’ve created a Z-Tune replica from ground up. This happens as to a reason that Nismo Z-Tune is a very limited model with only 20 units were built and every one of them are sold except for the very first unit that is still in Nismo Omori factory. If you can’t have it, then build it.

First off, they bought a used BNR34 and stripped it to its bare shell and gave it a full refreshing treatment close to how Nismo (Nissan Motorsports) did to their flagship Z-Tune. To start it all, the chassis were painted to what Nismo painted their Z-Tune limited line-ups with, a special paint color of ‘KY0’ silver shade formerly reserved for Z-Tune.

As with the original Nismo Z-Tune with 500HP on tap, JAPO also made sure that their JAPO-tuned GTR is somewhat closer to be a Z-Tune spec. In order to achieve that, they’ve replaced the stock twin turbochargers with two GT-RS turbochargers from HKS which is good for 500HP at the disposal. The internals & externals of the engine are filled and surrounded with HKS parts all around. The working boost is set at 1.5 bar for a good 630HP with 660Nm of torque. That’s about 500HP at the wheels. Just in case you are wondering what’ the WHP.

Managing all the engine fueling, timing and ignitions are held by HKS FCon V Pro standalone. The waste gases are channeled to a full 4” ARC exhaust system. Transferring all that massive power to the wheels is handled by Getrag 6-speed manual transmission mated to HKS clutch. The geabox and the rear differential is treated with oil coolers from ARC. The handling of this JAPO-tuned GTR is improved with the usage of HKS Hipermax adjustables on all four corners and is complimented with ARC strut bar connecting the front two strut towers.

Braking system is enhanced by the use of Stoptech 355mm 4 piston for the fronts and StopTech 355mm 2 piston for the rears. Finishing the look of Z-Tune replica, the front bumper and the front fenders are Nismo carbon fiber items. While the hood is Z-Tune look-a-like, apparently it is not a real Nismo carbon fiber items. Instead, it is made by Seibon. The wheels are 18” Nismo LMGT4 warped with Toyo R888 semi-slick tyres. Adding more aesthetic value to the GTR, a carbon fiber rear under diffuser from ARC is attached to the rear bumper to help with the down-force.

Interior wise, you will not find any more plasticky stuffs as they have been treated with alcantara and leather which makes the interior looks more luxurious and stylish. No, not in a VIP way though. MOMO steering wheel replaces the standard GTR item. The floor mats are JAPO items. The bucket seats also has been treated with alcantara and leather with embossed GTR logo.
