Gunmetal Grey BNR32

One of my favorite car of all time ever since I heard of the word 'skyline' especially the ones with GTR emblem with the letter R in blood red color at the back of the car. No one will make a mistake for its twin circular tail lights identity.

Apparently, for this particular BNR32 shown here is no longer a stock standard GTR. It is visible that the standard front seats has been replaced with Recaro's. Also, the standard 16" wheels has been replaced with a bigger and wider 17" wheels which I am not known of the make and the type. Perfect stance.

Its the winter season this year again and this S14 looks like its ready for the cold winter. S14 dont look any better than this. Fitted with wide Volk TE37 all round. Perhaps a more subtle and bold bodykit would make this car stands out more. Loving the midnight purple tone.

Tommy Kaira GTR R35

Earlier this year in Tokyo Auto Salon 2010, Tommy Kaira has debuted their full GTR R35 aero kit. The kit comprises of a new full front bumper, side skirts, rear under diffuser and new rear spoiler. The front bumper has a redone center grille, side ducts and integrated chin spoiler.

Also notice that the rear fender wheel well extension kit that extends the wide rear ends another 20mm on each side which are made of carbon fibre. The new bold side skirts give the GTR a lowered look and it blends nicely with the rear fender wheel well extension kit.

The rear spoiler is also enhanced with its center flap made of carbon fibre and increased height over standard's height. Note that the absent of rear third brake light.

Looking from the back of the car, the rear diffuser is very much different from a stock unit. Tommy Kaira designed the rear diffuser to be much bolder and wider than the standard rear diffuser.

Other little things that makes this Tommy Kaira R35 to look different from other R35 are like the carbon fibre door handles, trunk lip spoiler and front fender intake grille made of carbon fibre. In the performance department, a set of suspension made by Quantum for Tommy Kaira and also a Mono-6 brake kit made by Endless comprises of front and rear set replacement available for customers.

Nissan 180SX

First introduced in Japan back in 1988 with the chassis code of RPS13. The R stands for hatchback while P stands for engine type used and S13 is the generation of the chassis. This because S13 chassis also do comes in two-door coupe variants with the chassis bearing PS13. The difference between the two is, RPS13 is called 180SX while PS13 is called as Silvia.

By normality, the number 180 in 180SX indicates the size of the engine it has underneath the hood which is a 1.8 liter inline four engine which either comes with turbocharged or non-turbocharged. A turbocharged 1.8 liter engine bears the code of CA18DET while the non turbo charged is known as CA18DE. But somehow, later in the years of 1991, 180SX also comes standard with either a 2.0 liter inline four turbocharged engine bears the code SR20DET or a 2.0 liter inline four non-turbocharged which is also known as SR20DE. Though the engine is a 2.0 liter, it still bears the 180SX name.

Ok, now here's a little knowledge on the generation of 180SX's calling names according to its year of manufactured.
      1988 - 1990 is called as Zenki
      1991 - 1994 is called as Chuki
      1995 - 1998 is called as Kouki

My favorite is the Kouki generation. Manufactured in 1995 through 1998. Some sources even claim that there are 1999 models rolled out of Nissan factory before Nissan decided not to continue with 180SX's production. Kouki or most commonly referred as a Type X is by far the most prettiest among of all standard looking 180SXs.

This is true with the aid of improved front fascia design with the larger air intake and even wider cheek results in more fierce looking. At the back, the little boot lid spoiler (available on Zenki & Chuki) were gone and the rear tail light cluster received major improvements with twin circular brake light on each side and the indicator is squeezed between the two circle. Meanwhile, the reverse indicator is at the same location as the previous generation's.

Car Modify Wonder Toyota Mark II JZX90

This is a Toyota Mark II which has its exterior fitted with bodykit from Car Modify Wonder. If you are wondering where this kit comes from, if you have guessed Japan, then you are correct. Car Modify Wonder is one of the styling company that produces bodykits for Nissan and Toyota line-ups. The Nissan's included in Car Modify Wonder bodykits catalog are the familiar range of Silvia's family from 180SX, S13, S14 & S15 and other Nissans included are Laurel and Cefiro. 

Meanwhile, the Toyota models included are MarkII and Chaser.To be clear, these two models are fairly the same as these two models carries the same chassis number. The things that differentiate both models are their exterior parts; the headlights, and tail lights.

Enough of that, and lets get back to this JZX90 Mark II. This particular car is a Mark II Tourer V model  of year 1996 throughout 2000. This car has 1JZ-GTE engine in its engine bay powering the rear wheels through ORC 409D clutch via 5 speed manual transmission. The power transferred to the rear wheels are biased to each side of the rear wheels by KAAZ differential 2-way LSD. In case you are wondering, a 1JZ-GTE engine is a 2.5L inline six engine with twin turbochargers. In stock form, the engine is capable of delivering 280HP and 360Nm of torque.

The exterior of this Mark II is fully kitted with Car Modify Wonder Shadow bodykit. From the front bumper, side skirts, rear bumper, the wide front fenders and the hood are Car Modify Wonder Shadow's. The wheels are Work Emotion CR-Kai 18" and Work Emotion XC8 18".

Slammed Mark X

Have you seen any Toyota Mark X done like these before? They look absolutely slammed to the ground with low offset wheels and negative cambers all round. Just the way I like. The bodykits on these two Xs are unknown. The black one's looked like Carlsson or Hamann kit while the red X looked similar to Instant Gentleman's kit. Perhaps anyone could share some intel?

Oettinger VW Scirocco

Volkswagen Scirocco. They way to pronounce it 'see-ro-co'. I dont know if there's a meaning behind that name. Scirocco first introduced in 1974 and then the second generation in 1982 and the latest 3rd generation in 2008. There's a huge gap between the 2nd gen and the 3rd gen. When it was re-introduced back in 2008, the world accepted it with arms wide open. Who wouldn't love the 3rd gen Scirocco? It looks the part and it came equipped with desirable motor, a 1.4 TSI and 2.0 TSI.


Both motor are forced fed via single turbocharger that pumps 120 PS and 200 PS respectively. Though there are another few variants of the two motors but, these two are the most chosen by the enthusiasts.



Oettinger, a German based tuner has released tune-up parts for the Rocco that is so delicously deli. As seen in the images, the kit comes with new front spoiler, side skirts, rear air diffuser, set of 20" Oettinger RXX wheels and special exhaust system with 4 tailpipes made of stainless steel to get your Rocco looks different from any other Rocco on the aesthetic value.

For the go-fast bits, the engine control unit (ECU) has been modified by the techies at Oettinger and the 1.4 TSI develop 200 PS while the 2.0 TDI churns out 240 HP. A special performance kit for 2.0 TSI engine will be made available that pumps out a healthy 350 PS and tarmac breaking 470 Nm of torque. Also, improvements includes special adjustable suspension, larger brakes and larger intercooler.

The interior is filled with carbon fibre bits, stainless steel kick plates, aluminium pedals and Oettinger floor mats.

How to stretch the tires

Here's a couple of videos from Youtube showing the techniques used to stretch tires to fit those wide wheels. You gotta love the wide rims they have. Love it!

The usual way of getting the tire expand is by using LPG sprayed into the tire and they light it up to get the inside of the tire vacuumed hence the tire sidewall will expand. But this method is really dangerous. Possibility of getting the rim and the tire airborne is there.






Here's another way of getting it stretched. Honestly, I dont really know what they were doing with those 2 huge tank with outlet nozzle. Possibly they forced the compressed air into the tire through the side walls gap and the tire will expand to the lip of the rim.

Koguchi Power RPS13

This Nissan 180SX is owned by Yoshinori Koguchi himself. These photos are kind of old photos as the recent ones shows that the car has changed color from this grey shade to a more lighten hue or silver color I should say. Personally, I loved this color over that silver color. The TE37's are just the wheels that suited the appearance of the car. With the low stance, matching wheels and awesome looking bodykit, this car standing firm as the idol for the RPS13 owners out there. Read More
